Chapter 8: Sampling Distribution of Sample Proportions. Hypothesis Testing.
Chapter 8 discusses the concept of hypothesis testing and the other associated concepts: null and alternative hypothesis, p-value, level of significance, statistical significance, error type 1 and error type 2. All these concepts are introduced in regard to the parameter proportion, either for one or for two of them. In the next chapter we will do the same for the parameter mean.
It also discusses some of the most notable controversies and misconceptions about hypothesis testing.
